Love the build quality, but...

I love the build quality of this backpack, but the 47L estimate (in expanded mode) is way overstated. I have bags that are rated at 35L that hold twice as much as this bag. It's the size of an EDC bag, and that is not what I was looking for.

Bamian Pack 17

I am very impressed with the Bamian Pack 17. It is a super sturdy bag and all of the materials are really good quality. I ordered the bag on it's own and it comes with two Holding Buckle Straps which are super handy and versatile. I have used them for fastening a larger umbrella to my bag as well as to store clothing on the outside of my pack that I rolled for quick access if I need it. I have been through a ton of bags so far and I can honestly say with no hesitation that this is probably the most versatile bag I have come across. I have went from using this as an EDC bag, to a weekend trip bag, to fully expanding it and using it for a week's trip. It is insane how functional and well thought out this bag is. I cannot reccomend it enough to anyone looking for a bag that do a little big of everything (travel, hiking, everyday carry bag, etc.). To top it off, though the bag is on the larger and heavier side it is incredibly comfortable to carry compared to most travel backpacks of this size.
Some things to consider (which were no big deal to me, personally):
- The bag is a bit heavy when empty (likely due to the high quality materials used).
- The Bamian Pack 17 specifically you might find a bit big/long on your back if you have a smaller frame (I can't speak to the Bamian Pack 15 though).
- Because of the shape of the bottom of the bag it will not stand up on its own. You can stand it on its side just fine but if you want to stand it straight up you will need to lean it against something.
- If you are debating getting the travel bundle version with all the modular accessories, and you can see yourself using most of the accessories, I say 100% go for it.
After actually receiving the bag and seeing how awesome it is, I will definitely be picking up some accessories and pouches for it. It is definitely a pack worthy of investing in the accessories for it.
